Prince William Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in Brazil

Prince William is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in Brazil in the coming weeks, as confirmed by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a event ahead of the environmental conference, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belem.

Father and son were participating in the scientific institution event, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the British authorities.

Climate Leadership Commitment

King Charles has been a long-time champion of protecting nature - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be taking place in South America ahead of the climate conference.

Official representatives have characterized the Prince's participation at the forthcoming conference as taking on an important role in "climate diplomacy".

Previous Activities

The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the official car, were greeted attendees such as environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and government officials.

This participation involved presentations alongside French leader Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Marine Economy Conference in Monaco during the current year.

Environmental Prize Connection

The climate conference will dovetail with the prince's own sustainability recognition program, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the eve of he attends the COP summit on 6 November.

Last week the prince described the award contenders as "modern-day pioneers".

Monarch's Environmental Record

The King has been a key figure at previous climate summits, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the reminder: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".

"For decades I've committed a large proportion of my life trying to warn of the survival risks challenging our world over global warming, climate change and ecological decline," the King told delegates.
