Female Victim Stabbed in Birmingham Bus Stop Attack Dies
A woman who was stabbed to her neck area during a random assault near a bus shelter in Birmingham has died, authorities verified.
The deceased woman, aged 34 years, was targeted in Smallbrook Queensway, just outside Bullring shopping complex, just prior to 21:00 GMT on Friday, according to police statements.
The suspect, 21, appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court Monday morning, facing charges for the violent incident.
He was previously accused of attempted murder but following the victim's passing the charge has been updated to murder.
Law Enforcement Actions
Authorities stated police personnel will remain in the downtown area through Monday to offer reassurance, while detectives assisted the victim's relatives.
Detectives are appealing any eyewitnesses who might have observed the accused, who is described as British citizen of Black ethnicity, and is believed to have been wearing grey athletic wear, black hat, trainers and rucksack.

The knife attack occurred near Bullring retail complex, across from primary access point of New Street railway station.
Law enforcement confirmed they were treating it as a random violent act with investigators stating efforts continue to determine why it happened.
Eyewitness Reports
Shalini Doal, employed in the vicinity, described paramedic and police activity when she finished her shift at about 22:00 Friday night.
She characterized the location as "quite chaotic", adding that co-workers reported hearing loud disturbances at about 21:00.
"Many co-workers take public transport, ride the tramline... our security is compromised fundamentally, in the downtown area."
Ashley Birks, 25, from Stoke-on-Trent, mentioned visiting the city quite frequently visiting his partner resident there, expressing concern about what had happened.
"It causes concern about my partner," he said.
"She doesn't drive employed at all of the big music venues... considering something completely unprovoked occurred, you know, it's horrible."
