Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction

Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coast.

The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both regions.

Medical authorities warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
